Elmer Beechy started Jamesport Harness Supplies 40 years ago and continues to provide quality and service to customers far and wide. Elmer had been a farmer, as was his father before him, but saw there was a need for a service to area residents for horses and supplies and opened his business in 1972.

Jamesport Harness carries a full line of carriages and wagons, both new and used. They also make harnesses, fancy or plain, and in all sizes from mini's to drafts, single or team, for work or for show.

If you're looking for a  saddle, Jamesport Harness has over 100 saddles and tack of all kinds on display at the store. Elmer also does quite a bit of trading of both saddles and carriages.
If you're in the market for buying a horse, he can assist customers in finding one. He says he does quite a bit of trading and attends major sales throughout the area to buy and sell horses.

Jamesport Harness has served customers in the southern and western U.S. as well as in Canada. “I sell to west and south mostly, and some north,” Elmer said. “I sell from Texas to California, a lot in the Dakotas and I have quite a bit of business in Canada. We do a lot of business in Iowa, too.” Elmer and his wife, Mary, and grandson, Duane Bontrager, run the business located half a mile south of Jamesport on state Highway 190. He says customer satisfaction is his top priority. “If something isn't right, we try to  make it right.”

Jamesport Harness is open from 8-5 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and closed on Thursday and Sunday.
